Sweet hypocrisy
Is it possible that I don't need a relationship without boundaries, I just need the freedom to make my choices for myself?
Perhaps.

Accepting someone as they are is one thing, but what does it actually mean to believe that you do not have to convince the right man to do the right thing?

The right man
I do this all the time. All the time. I could not count how many times I think, write, speak and act in a way which is designed to persuade, cajole, induce and convince.
Now there is no escaping that sometimes in this life, we have to persuade people. Sometimes you have no choice but to persuade the wrong person into doing the right thing.
But it is a terrible habit to automatically assume persuasion is necessary. Give people space to be the right man. And in your relationships - well if they aren't the right man, what on earth are you doing there anyway?
This is not an excuse to expect people to be psychic and always know what the right thing is without you telling them. It's ok to tell people what you need, just don't assume they need to be persuaded in order for them to give it to you.
It is pointless for me to say any more. Kelly says it better. You should go and read her article in full...here.

The light and the dark
“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”

What I've learnt about love
- It is possible to cry so much that you give yourself two black eyes.
- There are as many lovers, loves and relationship possibilities as there are stars in the sky. Build a love without limits.
- The pleasure is worth the pain, although the light and the dark are two sides of the same coin...one cannot be had without the other. But never love less to protect yourself from heartache, love more to risk it all for the joy.
- Time changes everything. Don't look for that which is eternal, but seek that which will be continuously renewed.
- I will forever know nothing about love.

Love without limits
We seem to live in a culture which is fixated on rules. Happiness is x, family is y, wealth is this, love is that. Rules are just fine, I have no problem with them. But what about when they don't quite relate to the concept they are supposed to be explaining?

Missing you
I'm not the kind of girl who looks at a horse and immediately sees a unicorn... but every day I wait for you. Every day I miss you. How long does it take before the unicorn is all that is left in view?

How to define Love
The dictionary tells us that love is
"A strong feeling of affection and sexual attraction for someone."
For example, the love of a parent for a child is based on the desire for the parent to know the child but being known by them to the same extent is not necessary for satisfaction. Love which is based on lust is satisfied in far less than a lifetime. Love for a friend is not so consumptive that it requires intimacy to the same intensity in order to satisfy.

The Invitation
I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself.
If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
And if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.
I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.

Your face
This never used to happen, it only began when I started to let go of the memory, the relationship, the past.

One eye on the horizon
- It means I will miss out on so many amazing, intense (and yes heartbreaking) experiences. I am choosing to travel because I want to experience more, not less.
- It means I will miss out on so much love and friendship. I love to love people. I believe that loving for love's sake is one of the best things about being human. Love is never wrong.
- If I always have the "I cant" frame of mind, there is every chance that I will walk right on by Mr Nomad without even noticing he is there.
- If I spend years and years alone, the chances are that even if I do have the good sense to notice Mr Nomad, I wont be able to make the relationship work. Like everything else in life, we learn from experience. And as we get older, the things we arent involved in get more challenging to us.
